College Policy - Welcoming People

Prior to the admission of Year 7 pupils in September each year, pupils visit to familiarise themselves with the building, meet the Headteacher and staff and see the school in operation.

In July, a Parents’ Evening will be held to give parents of prospective pupils an opportunity to meet the Headteacher and staff and to tour the building to see the full range of facilities we offer our pupils. At this meeting parents will be given information about the development of the school and its aims.

On entry into school, Year 7 pupils are set in form groups according to prior attainment information.

Every child will be placed in a form which has a form tutor responsible for the care of that group of pupils. The form tutor is the child’s first point of contact on a day-to-day basis and pupils should form a good relationship with their form tutor. The work of the form tutor is co-ordinated by the Head of Upper, Middle or Lower School.

The school has a transition mentor who ensures that transfer from primary school to All Hallows goes smoothly.
